It’s time for our new Startbase Startup of the Month: eROCKIT! What they mean by talking about human hybrids and why Arnold Schwarzenegger was important for the founder: We asked eROCKIT ten questions:

1. Why did you found your startup, which problem do you address and how do you solve it?

I am suffering from asthma my whole life,  I know how it is to live with not enough power to breathe! A decade ago I was in China and the smog was so heavy that I wasn’t able to see the sky. It became clear to me that at some day I want to work in an industry which makes our world better, cleaner and more sustainable… Thus the way to some kind of e-mobility product was born in my head.

2. What gave you the idea to found eROCKIT?

I got the chance to buy all the rights to the concept of eROCKIT, I talked with two Partners and started the company. What we address is the need of a vehicle which is fun and an enrichment not a sacrifice and brings you emission free without too much traffic jam delay through our crowded traffic environment. The eROCKIT as a smart, agile, fast and superfun to ride two-wheeler with a 120 km range seemed to me as a perfect solution!

3. What is special about your business-model, what are you doing differently?

We at eROCKIT put the human being back in the center of mobility. The interface between human being and machine (PEDALS!) is the key. That’s why we call it Human Hybrid. The constant need to pedal bonds the rider in the fascinating way to the vehicle. Try it!

4. Which were the biggest challenges you needed to overcome in the beginning?

I founded other companies already, so that was not the challenge at all. The challenge was to set up the top team of two-wheeler experts with the right motivation and attitude to change the existing products from combustion engines to emission free fun to ride products. The eROCKIT for sure is one of those.

5. What was the most valuable advice somebody gave to you during your foundation phase?

I cannot remember that one special advice during foundation but I can tell you that Arnold Schwarzenegger once told me never think about a plan B, always focus on your plan A because you do focus on a plan B you lose you’re absolutely focus on your plan A. So I did it!

6. What was your greatest success so far?

At the moment we are really a small team – not even 15 people, but our product is already featured worldwide in the news. The brand new eROCKIT goes it‘ s way and conquers the world of the new e-mobility. No doubt about this.

7. What are your milestones?

Since the production is already up and running, we want to start the real more mass production and expand as quickly as possible to the European two-wheeler countries such as France, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Portugal and others. I always think international – I can never think about one continent.

8. Why are you on Startbase/VZ?

The idea of connecting companies and their innovations is very appealing to us. Startbase enriches any founder within any industry.

9. Who is the superbrain in your team and what is his/her superpower?

We do not have one super brain we are “the borg” our collective thinking is the key to our success.

10. Where do you see your startup in 3 years?

In 3 years I am very sure that we are producing units in the 4-digit range per year and that the eROCKIT has started to be present worldwide.
